Experience God's Light
Meditation or Contemplative Prayer is a vital point in my spiritual life.
I just want to give you quick starting tips on how I “sense” the Chakras during prayer and meditation and how I think they get connected and filled with the necessary energy.
In my opinion, the Chakras are simply centers of consciousness, or awareness. In Meditation, through many different kinds of meditation, we can reach the highest state of awareness.
I cannot describe exactly, what this is like, but it is a state of oneness with God, an awareness that we are “one spirit” with him. (1 Corinthians 6:17: “But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit.“)
Uniting yourself with the Lord is as well faith as it can be, beyond that, a state of consciousness.
My meditation has this goal, out of which I then enter into the world with more awareness of who I am in Christ and what my thoughts, deeds and actions are. Also, through the practice of surrendering the more primal energies to the cause of the higher ones, helps me to practice self-control.
I become a master of my feelings and desires.
“For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live,” (Romans 8:13, NIV)
“For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.” (Romans 8:6, NLT)
I understand these two scriptures as learning to surrender the energies from the three first Chakras below the heart, through the heart into the higher areas.
The lower three I consider the Soul, the higher three I consider the Spirit. (Hebrews 4:12)
It is not, that the lower Chakras are in themselves evil or fleshly by nature, but if your mind is set on the issues of these, even if the positive aspects, and not on the higher ones and their positive aspects primarily, you will live according to the flesh more likely.
It is in releasing the positive aspects and levels of consciousness of the higher Chakras, that we also will transform the lower ones in the process.
The result will be the fruit of the Spirit.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” (Galatians 5:22, NIV)
On the picture above, you can see, that a kind of resonance or waves come from the heart area. If we set our mind on the lower areas, meaning we keep their energies down there and do not take them upward, we set our “mind” on the things of the flesh. (Survival, Food, Sex, Rights, Intellectual Superiority, Pleasures, etc.)
But if we focus our energies from the lower areas through the heart upward and move all the way to the top with them, we set our mind on the things of the Spirit. (Starting with Compassion and Love in the heart area, then truthfulness, Wisdom and Revelation, Knowledge of God, Selflessness, Unity with God)
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.” (Philippians 4:8, NIV)
This is a continuous process of renewing our mind and dwelling in a conscious state of godliness, discerning everything according to God’s mind! (Romans 12:2-3)
I want to say at this point, that meditation will probably not save a sinner from the wrath of God!! People might experience higher consciousness trough meditation, but only faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ can bring forgiveness and salvation. This means, that we get truly united with God and our sins are forgiven. Jesus Christ died on the cross so that we could be blameless on the day of judgment and he was raised from the dead, so that we can have a new life out of God. Christ died for your sins, so that you could spend eternity with God! Do not ignore this truth! Respond to it with faith and follow Jesus!!
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
The meditation I will describe here is one of pure awareness. You could also do different ones, like studying the Bible and trying to understand certain passages concerning the topics of the Chakras, Praying about them or expressing the upward flow of energy in your daily life. The best results are probably met by connecting all these methods together!!
Now, the method of pure awareness:
Here is what I do.
My hands are very important for the first step. I put them together somehow and imagine that the presence of God or energy is being collected in the palms of them. I then start to feel energy between them or around them, depending how I hold my hands. (I am always very relaxed, listening to music on my chair or something similar.)
Now, I start paying attention to where my spirit and the Holy Spirit lead me next. Which Chakra gets connected to the energy in my hands?
If nothing happens, I start meditating on a Bible Verse or just a mental image.
Soon enough, I will feel a certain Chakra respond.
I then dwell a little bit in this Chakra, dealing with its related energy type and the topic of its awareness.
I do this, because this Chakra might need some balance, before I start expanding my awareness higher.
I keep doing this, until I am able to stay in the crown area.
Usually, my heart area works like a bridge to the crown. But that is just the way I experience it. I think, there are no rules here.
My attention jumps quickly from my hands to my heart and up to my crown.
I try to dwell there as long as possible, seeing what impressions come to my mind.
My goal is to see God more clearly and have wisdom and revelation, enlightened eyes of the heart, as described in Ephesians 1:17-21.
You can do this however you wish, just “turn on” your energy and dwell in your areas, feel it flow, but try not to manipulate! Just let your consciousness “rise” from area to area, surrendering the energies of the lower areas to the cause or topics of the higher ones.
